ABBA TRIBUTE SHOW, LABOUR DAY, AND CHEAP CINEMA
Anyone who grew up in the 70s and even the 80s will be very familiar with the music of Swedish group ABBA. This group consisting of 2 couples sold millions of records and their music has been used in manyproductions, plays and even movies (Mamma Mia!)
Now you have the chance to see an ABBA tribute show, right here in Barcelona! As of today (30 April) until Sunday 12th May, “The World of Abba” will be performed at the Teatre Tivoli, and will take the audience through the life and the music of these famous musicians. The show includes 20 artists who will be performing ABBA´s hits, including some which were released in Spanish version. Tickets cost between 20 and 35 Euros and can be purchased from TICKETMASTER
Since tomorrow (1st May) is a public holiday, there will be many parties tonight in Barcelona. Many people in fact take a long weekend (or Puente as it´s known in Spanish), since it falls on a Wednesday. Take into consideration that shops will be closed, so better do your grocery shopping today! Attractions, tours, restaurants and museums will still be open however. Since the weather for tomorrow is forecasted as “Stormy”, it might be a great idea to stay in with some warm blankets and loads of movies to watch!
If you´re the type of person that would much rather go to the cinema than stay home to see a film, and especially if you are broke at the end of the month, you´ll be glad to hear that Filmoteca show olders films for only 4 Euros!
Tomorrow at 17h00 they will be showing the classic horror film “The Fly”, and on Thursday there will be two screenings of King Kong (first the 1933 version at 17h00, followed by the 2005 version at 18h30.
