BONA NIT BARCELONA, CINEMA and GYPSY BALKAN MUSIC
It is time for our mid-week suggestions of what is hot in Barcelona!
If you are wondering what to do tonight or this weekend, we can give you some tips!
Bona nit Barcelona: This is one of the hundreds of festivals that take place in Barcelona. The special thing about this one is that on 20th July its first edition will be taking place! This means you have a chance to become part of history. The name is chosen because Bona nit is one of the first words a foreigner in Barcelona learns. The “guest” country of this first edition is Norway. The performing bands are: Kings of Convenience, KAKKMADDAFAKKA, Dry the River, Fanfarlo and Inspir. The organizers will offer eco food with many vegetarian options!
The entrance ticket is 40 euros and can be bought online till 19th July. On 20th the tickets will be only sold at Poble Espanyol for 45Euros. For more information about the event check their official website.
Cinema Melies: Cinema Melies (located close to metro stop Urgell) is one of the cinemas in Barcelona that show movies in their original version, which makes it expat friendly. During the months of July and August they have a special offer where they show classic movies for 3 euros and movies from the “Operacion Rescate” offer where you can see a movie only for 5 euros! For the detailed list of the movies you can click here.
Gypsy Balkan Music: The Barcelona Gipsy Klezmer Orquestra (BGKO) is playing tonight at Centre Civic Urgell. The band is international and have representatives of countries like Romania, Hungry, Poland and Middle Eastern countries. The entrance is free and dancing is guaranteed under the rhythms of their music.
Stand-up comedy: And last but not least tonight at bar “The Passanger” there will be a performance of amateur stand-up artists – commonly known as “Open Mic” The bar is located at Enrique Granados 92. The idea is for the 5 minutes max, out with a gong if there are no laughs in the first 90 seconds. So let´s go and have a laugh – they say 30 minutes of laughter is the same as spending 20 minutes in the gym! I definitely prefer the laughing!
