CARNAVAL TIME, HOUSE MUSIC, DAVID BISBAL AND SOME INDIAN CUISINE
It may be because of the Spring- weather this week in Barcelona, but we are already in our Friday mood and ready to rediscover the city again this weekend.
As many of you might already heard, the Barcelona Carnaval 2013 (the original name is Carnestoltes) is coming. It will take place from 7th February till 13th February all around Barcelona. There are many different and interesting activities during the Carnaval days. Carnaval will start with the arrival of the Ray Carnaval (“Rei Carnestoltes”) on Thursday 7th. In the next days there will be many events in the different “barrios”, markets, including Mask Ball “Baile de Mascaras” and activities for the kids. For more details you can check the official website (it is only in Spanish and Catalan). And start preparing your costumes!
If you are not in a mood for carnaval and you like house music, we can suggest try out Eclipse club (it is situated on the 26th floor of the W hotel). The DJ is Jose Franco and he is playing house remixes from 11pm to 3 am every Thursday. Have in mind that there is a dress code and only people older than 23 will be let in the club. For more information you can check the Facebook group of the event.
I don’t know about you, but I personally heard and knew David Bisbal´s music long before my first arrival in Spain. I think it will be more than fair to say that he is one of the most famous Spanish singers. If you still haven’t heard one of his live performances, here is your chance! He has a concert next week on 2nd February at 21.00 in Palau Sant Jordi. The price of the tickets are between 33 and 65 euros. Ticket might be bought from Ticketmaster
Don’t worry – we also thought of those of you, who don’t feel like Carnaval, House music or concerts, but just want to enjoy tasty food in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Mayura Lounge is an Indian restaurant (vegetarian friendly too) described to be “perfect for cocktails, dining and drinks”. And yes we confirm – it is perfect. The atmosphere is very chilled out, the food is delicious and the Mojito is one of the nicest ones we have tried. The restaurant is situated Carrer Girona 57 (closest metro is Girona) and we recommend you to make a reservation, because sometimes the place can get really crowded!
