COMEDY FESTIVAL, CATALAN MUSIC FESTIVAL, AND LA VUELTA A ESPAÑA BIKE RACE
Barcelona International Comedy Festival 2013
Labelled as the “The world´s first multilingual comedy festival”, this festival started started in 2007 and has presented some of the world´s greatest comedians. These comedians come from a variety of different countries such as Sweden, Holland, Italy, Germany and this year for the first time, Russia!
The event starts on Wednesday 25 September and continues until 20 October. The performances will be taking place at a variety of seven different venues in Gràcia, Gotico and Raval. There will also be a comedy workshop hosted by Logan Murray, where you can learn to challenge yourself and perform live comedy.
They are offering a “Early Bird” offer on the website which allows you to purchase tickets at a discounted rate if you buy them in advance.

ALTAVEU FESTIVAL 2013
If you have lived in Barcelona for a while and have grown fond of Catalan music, you need to check out the Festival Altaveu, starting this coming Thursday 5th September until Sunday 7 September.
This year marks the 25th edition of this festival, and will take place in three different locations in Sant Boi de Llobregat (about 30 minutes from the city center). The musical style is mostly Catalan pop, and highlights the talent of the younger artists that proudly represent their Catalan language and culture. You can expect to see artists such as Ramon Mirabet, the group Dorian, La Sombra del Átomo and many more. Information on the program and tickets can be found on the official website
LA VUELTA A ESPAÑA
The 68th edition of this famous bike race is currently taking place, and consists of 21 stages in total. Some of the top riders in the world contend, and the nearest stage to Barcelona (the 13th stage) is taking place on Friday. The route will be from Valls to Castelldefels (easily reachable by train from Barcelona) The town of Valls is quite interesting, as it is considered to be the birthplace of the castells (human pyramid) that is so famous in Catalan culture.
