DESIGN, READING IN A GARDEN, and MOTOGP
BARCELONA DESIGN WEEK
From 11 – 21 June, the 8th edition of the Barcelona Design Week will be taking place, bringing together creative professionals, organizations and companies who all share a passion for design.
This year´s slogan is Design Vision 2050 and is aimed at finding answers to society´s challenges in the coming years through design in habitat, health, entrepreneurship and ecodesign.
Some of the activities will include an exhibition on “Urban Living Room”, a Design Services Market, and even a kids workshop aimed at promoting creativity among the young ones. There will also be a number of presentation by some of the most creative minds in the industry. Registration is already open and lets you decide which activities you would like to participate in. READING IN THE GARDENS
If you´re still learning Spanish or Catalan, a great way to improve your vocabulary is by reading books in these languages. Now that summer is here, the Biblioteca de Catalunya have converted a part of the Gardens Rubio i Lluch into a place for outdoor reading. They provide loan services for books and magazines, and also free access to wifi if you need it.
MOTOGP 2013 BARCELONA
Regarded as one of the most popular races on the international MotoGP circuit, the Catalonia MotoGP World Championship will be taking place from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 June in Montmeló at the Circuit de Catañunya. This event attracts over 100 000 race fans who come to see one of the fastest sports in the world, where motorbikes reach speeds of up to 300 km per hour!
