MAGIC, MUSIC, ART and MORE
Happy Friday everyone!
The week is over and it´s time to check what´s hot in Barcelona this weekend and in the near future and make some nice plans!
For the art lovers: If you feel like seeing some interesting expositions this weekend you should check the “ Explosión! El legado de Jackson Pollock!”. The exposition explores the influence of the American artist Jackson Pollock on the contemporary art. You can see the works of more than 50 artists from the late 50s (after II World War) until present days. The exposition takes place in Museu Fundació-Joan Miro (Av. Miramar 1). Entrance is 7 Euros and the working hours are from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 19:00 (exception for Thursdays when they are open until 21.30, and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 to 14:30.
For the dance lovers: Have you ever heard about Butoh? It is a traditional Japanese dance and you can see it next month in Centre Civic Barceloneta on February 16th. Today is the last day that the inscription is open so if you want to reserve your place don’t lose time (the telephone number is 932563320 and website of the Centre civic is www.civicbarceloneta.com). The ticket is 32,8 euros.
For the magic lovers: The name of the show is “La asombrosa historia of Mr. Snow”. We saw this show maybe a year ago and we would definitely go and see it again. You don’t need to understand Spanish, though you will need some in order to understand what is going on. The shows this month are on 19th, 26th and 27th at 18:30 in theater Alexandra (Rambla Catalunya 90). The entrance is 12 euros and the show is worth it. Mr Snow (Antonio Diaz) is very young compared to most magicians, which makes his performance even more amazing.
And last but not least, something for lovers of live music: there is a small bar named Harlem Jazz Club in the the Gotic neighborhood (Carrer de Comtessa de Sobradiel 8), if you haven´t discovered it yet, maybe it is time! They have live music almost every night (except for Sundays and Mondays). This Saturday the guest band is Sazonando (they play Cuban music and salsa). The concert starts at 23.00 and the entrance is 6 euros.
Enjoy your weekend!!!
