MECAL FESTIVAL, JAPANESE CULTURE and FCB vs Manchester
Last year we posted the information about the MECAL event – Barcelona´s own Short Film and Animation festival. This year, starting today, you can visit the 16th edition of this event which takes place over the next 3 weeks over different locations in Barcelona, and will contain over 350 short films and animations from over 40 different countries!
The festival is divided into 4 separate categories:
- and “Oblicua” which shows the best of the most creative work.
Under these categories there is much diversity in terms of genres and themes including children, dance, sci-fi, comedy and social issues. Certain sections are reserved for horror, sex, Women, and Catalan or Spanish talent. Every year a different country plays “guest” for this event and this year its Holland. This means that you can expect to see some interesting Dutch creations. A ticket that allows you entry to all films costs only €25 but there are daily tickets for €4,50.
