OPEN WORKSHOPS, DANCING and MUSIC FESTIVAL, and ADAM BLOOM
Tallers Oberts Barcelona: From today 3th May till 19th May in the different districts of Barcelona will take place Tallers Oberts Barcelona (Open Workshops Barcelona). The idea of the event is for the public to visit the studios of the artists – talk with them and understand more about their work. There will also be additional/side events like guided tours, musical performances, and workshops for kids. The districts that will take part of the event are: Sarria-Sant Gevrasi, Poble Nou, Poble Sec, Ciutat Vella and Gracia. For more information and a map check their official website.
FRIDAY DANCING & MUSIC FESTIVAL
Divendres a la Plaça del Rei (or Friday dancing and music festival at Plaza del Rei). The festival takes place every year in two periods: From Easter to end of June and between October and December. So the spring session is on – if you want to stop by the Plaza del Rei today or any other Friday till June you can enjoy some live music and dancing. The concert tonight starts at 10 pm (the performing group is Company of Hazards) and before that at 9.30 there is a dance workshop for kids (King´s Square Family- Oriol Fonollosa).
STAND UP COMEDY
If you´ve been living in Barcelona as an expat, you´re probably aware that seeing stand-up comedy in English is something very rare and hard to find. That´s why you´ll be glad to hear that tonight the famous Adam Bloom will be performing his comedy at Carders Pub (Carrer dels Carders 31 in Ribera). He has been labeled as one of Britain´s inventive comedians, and has received the Polygram Punter´s Comedy Award, as well as the 1998 Time Out Award for best stand up comedy. He was part of the “Just for Laughs Comedy Tour” which was played to 42 000 people across 17 cities across Canada.
