Whether you´re an audiophile or just a hipster, there is nothing better than the warm, crisp and crackling sound of a vinyl record. Many people are still of the opinion that the sound quality, even though outdated, is still better than modern technology. If you are one of these people who still listen to and collect records, you might find it interesting to visit the Fira del Disc (Record Collector´s Fair), taking place at the Estacio del Nord. This year is the 17th edition of this event, where around 2 million records, albums and cds are exchanged, as well as auctions taking place featuring artist memorabilia. There will also be an exhibition called “John Lennon – Strawberry fields forever”. On Saturday the fair will be open from 10h00 until and on Sunday from 11h00 to 21h00. BARCELONA GUITAR FESTIVAL 2014

WHAT: A festival of concerts by guitarists
Keeping in line with the theme of music, you can still enjoy some of the performances of this year´s Barcelona Guitar Festival. This year is the 25th edition of this highly popular event and performances by artists such as Nacho Vegas, Joe Henry and also Bryan Ferry make up the lineup for this event. The performances are taking place at different venues across the city such as Razzmatazz, Gas de luz, Apolo, Barts and St Jordi club, so make sure you know where your concert is taking place. In case you didn´t know, Thursday 1st May is a bank holiday (Labour Day) and many people or taking the next day off as well to make a long weekend! If you are one of those people and you are thinking about going somewhere outside of Barcelona for the long weekend, why not try one of our suggestions for activities outside the city? Andorra still has some snow if you´re inclined to do some last minute skiing or snow-boarding. If however you´re feeling lazy you could also try some Cava tours or head up to Girona for the day!
