RECORDS, MARKETS AND TRIATHLONS
BARCELONA RECORDS COLLECTOR´S FAIR
There exists a unique group of people who still believe the vinyl is king, and that no modern digital format can match the warm sound of records. For this group of individuals, there will be the Barcelona Record Collector´s Fair, which will take place at Estacio del Nord (nearest metro is Arc de Triomf) on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October. Besides the estimated 2 million records and CDs that will be present, there will also be auctions on memorabilia and you can probably end up finding yourself a real collector´s item! See the website for more information on the fair and the highlights http://www.firadeldiscbcn.com/
GARMIN BARCELONA TRIATHLON
Garmin has become well-known as one of the biggest companies in the world when it comes to GPS navigation systems. On Sunday at Nova Mar Bella and Llevant beaches you can catch the Garmin Barcelona Triathlon 2013 – one of the most popular triathlons in Spain and definitely the largest in Barcelona. Previously, this event attracted around 6000 athletes that competed in 3 different categories: Supersprint, Olympic and Sprint for bike, swimming and running.
More information on the triathlon as well as registration to participate can be found on their offical event website http://www.garminbarcelonatriathlon.com/
In previous articles we mentioned some of the markets in Barcelona. While many of these sell a wide variety of items ranging from second hand goods and clothing to collectible art and power tools, none of them give much opportunity to those creative individuals who design and create beautiful products. The Raval Market, which takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 9pm does however offer these products where you can find serigraphs, prints, fabrics, jewelry, homemade cosmetics and soap, and much more. If you´re interested in having a stall at this market for your own products, have a look at the website http://www.mercatraval.com/
