Last week we had an overview of the different outdoor markets in Barcelona, where you can pick up anything from second hand goods to antiques and everything inbetween.
This week, we would like to mention another interesting market : Barceloneta Market.
This market is considered to be one of the major fresh food markets in Barcelona, and rightly so, considering that Barceloneta was once the fishing center of Barcelona, and a place where everyone they could find fresh fish and seafood. Just like many of the other markets in Barcelona, they have renovated and rejuvenated in order to attract younger consumers and help them appreciate the value of fresh food. They also sell a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Located in Plaça de la Font 1, they are open from 07.00 to 15.00 from Mondays to Thursdays and open until 20h00 on Fridays. Their website is in Catalan, but have a look nonetheless
OPIUM NIGHT CLUB
If you are a party animal and feel that weekends are just too short, the popular Opium has their “Hello Mondays” parties taking place.
Boasting a prime location right on the beachfront, and the only club in the area that has a liquor license which allows them to stay open until 6am, Opium has become one of the most popular night clubs in Barcelona. A large dance floor in the center, a long fully-stocked bar on the one side and a VIP area with very comfy sofas is what has made Opium so popular. Usually the party really gets started around 3am, when the partygoers from surrounding club that close at the time, arrive to continue their night of dancing and fun!.
