TAPAS ROUTE, MILEY CYRUS and BANK HOLIDAY
DE TAPES DE BARCELONA
WHEN: 5 June until 15th July
WHERE: 104 different bars/restaurants in Barcelona
WHAT: A tapas route
Having started yesterday, the “De Tapes de Barcelona” is the the 8th edition of this authentic Spanish-inspired gastronomical event. As we mentioned in a recent article, the tradition of giving a free tapa (small plate of food) when ordering a drink is something that is quite common in the south of Spain, but very rare in Catalunya since you have to order the food separately and pay much more. This event, similar to others such as Tapantoni aim to give people that chance to experience this tradition where you can enjoy a delicious cold drink and a tasty snack for €2,40. There are 104 different bars and restaurants participating, each with their own signature snack that accompanies a bottle of Estrella beer. To see the map of this route and what tapa each location is offering, have a look here. Guests are also able (and encouraged) to vote for their favorite tapa by filling in the form at the venues, which could win you a dinner for two!
MILEY CYRUS CONCERT
WHEN: Friday 13th June
WHERE: Palau Sant Jordi on Montjuic

Love her or hate her, Miley Cyrus has managed to earn the title of “Pop Princess” and has also managed to give a new generation a reminder of what it means to “twerk”. Her latest album called “Bangerz” managed to reach 1st place on iTunes in over 70 countries and her music video for “Wrecking Ball” reached over 100 million views in only 6 days.
Tickets for her concert will be sold at €55, €60, €65 and €85 respectively for reserved seats and €60 for standing tickets (all prices are without service charge) and can be purchased here. On YouTube there are a few videos of her 2014 Bangerz tour, giving you more or less an idea of what to expect at this concert.
WHEN: Monday 9th June
WHAT: Lunes de Pasqua
If you don´t already know, Monday is a bank holiday which means it will be puente (bridge, or long weekend!) It is the day after Pentecost Sunday which is 7 weeks after Easter. Why not make use of this long weekend and have a weekend break at one of the locations outside of Barcelona we have previously mentioned? This holiday is only for Barcelona (not the rest of Catalunya), so you might be able to get hotel accommodation a little bit cheaper
