TAPAS TOUR, FLAMENCO and ALEJANDRO SANZ
TAPAS & DRINK
Until the end of the month, you can enjoy tapas and a drink for only 2 Euros in the neighborhood of San Antoni!
Taking place across 20 bars in the area, this formula has worked tremendously well in other parts of the city such as Raval, and due to this success, the San Antoni Trade Center Association is organizing the fist Tapantoni tapas route. The idea is to bring new people to the neighborhood and to get recognition for the local eateries and bars. Each of the 20 bars that are participating will be giving customers a plan showing the bars and restaurants on the route which offer a tapa and drink for 2 Euros.
One of the most obvious aspects of Spanish culture is also one of its most “love/hate” forms of entertainment. Flamenco, which is immensely popular in the south is Spain, is sometimes regarded with a slightly less admiration in Catalunya (to put it diplomatically) Personally speaking, I really admire the artists for their talent, but generally speaking the shows are typically very similar – if you´ve seen one, you have seen them all.
I was recently very impressed however, by the performance of a young group of Flamenco artists who performed at the Palau Dalmases, a beautiful 17th century palace located on Calle Montcada, just down the road from the Picasso museum.
Compared to other Flamenco shows that are quite pricey and require you to have dinner with the show, Flamenco en el Palau Dalmases only costs 20 Euros and includes a drink (beer, cocktail, wine etc). The show lasts just over an hour, and is well worth showing to visiting friends or family who want to experience Spanish culture.
